WOW luke I totally agree with yer comment. the phone is so ugly and just plane slow! The iphone has such a crisp feeling to it that it makes it pleasurable to use. on the other hand the G1(Garbage1) Has a laggy feeling to it when trying to touch the screen or just browsing the internet. I really dont understand the whole hype about the crappy g1. Get an iphone and you will not be dis satisfied. Google, your phone is plane ugly and iphone still rapes all phones. The iphone shits on the g1 by miles and it was released way before. Google your only good for your website google.com, dont make phones please.

The phone is horrible. Its a lame copy of the iphone. HTC has some ugly designs that iam sure everyone agrees. Nothing will come out as good as the iphone beacuse they dont have STEVE JOBS..

yeah the g1 completely sucks, i mean first of all, wth is up with typing something on the keyboard and then turning the phone over every second? like you have to do that Each and Every time you want to type something? i mean i have a blackberry, and at least i can keep my fingers on the keyboard all the time, and the iPhone has a built in keyboard, but with this thing, it doesn’t even have an on screen keyboard. so what if it’s an android phone, that doesn’t mean you can take away convenience. you can’t use this phone with 1 hand i don’t think.

I agree G1 does suck like hell. Email function only pop3 not build for corp emails size of phone sucks. the way the angle the lower portion of the phone sucks looks ugly. the only best thing about it is the whole touch screen. If they made a newer ver. of sidekick and included the G1 features I’ll buy it. But overall this phone is garbage

Google totally f-ed up. I got a g1 and it blows. Thre touch screen sucks, the keyboard suks, the menus are unintutive, I cannot for thr liofe of me get email to work. Maps has no traffic, theb only thing that makes it useful…. total waste

Hey I like this phone! I mean I like the 3 mp camera, which will allow be to take pics of girl’s backs and then do what I please later with them. I mean any other phone may look better but I think its operating system is key. When I was a young boy in High School, I used to think I was cool because of my cell phone and Mercedes but I never got me the girl that I wanted. So I used to lie and tell people that I had girl friends and lost my virginity. I am however still a virgin and never kissed a girl. So phones looks don’t matter much look to me, I am so good looking and still never got a kiss (well once I got a peck) and that’s why you need to look at the operating system.

Frankly, you (admin) are a gimp, this domain was registered before the G1 was even out, and this post was made before it was out. You obviously hate the thing before you have even used one, so you are just going to hate it no matter what.
I’m guessing you are some hardcore iphone fanboy who hates to see his precious apple product beaten by something that costs less and is far superior.

Anyways, I hate Google and everything they stand for. I’m not going to go into how much the G1 blows or how much more the iPhone sucks and how iGnorant people bought it. Steve Jobs played everyone when they released that. Apple has been playing on the stupid and ignorant since the begining of time. I can find better mp3 players (ya, that’s what they’re called, not iPods) and better phones than the iPhone. Some of the phones I’ve seen can record video and send MMS (that would be picture messages iPhone owners). So all those Apple fanboys on here, quite bitching about how your phone is better, it isn’t. You’re iCrap is on the same level as the Garbage1.
Google, get your act together. HTC, you suck for making the agreement to design a phone for Google.

yeah cuz EVERYTHING is a rip off of the iphone if it has a touch screen right? You jackasses dont realize that apple invented nothing new here, but just used old cocepts and polished them up the iphone is good, but not that good. For gods sake it doesnt even have mms. I had a G1…that is until it stopped making phone calls. The dailer applications kept crashing, preventing me from making phone a single call…
turn the phone off and on again, no change….still can’t make calls….
After dealing with its shitty battery life( 1 DAY MAX) , a volume button placed in a position that if you didn’t lock the keypad your phone would go to vibrate and you’d miss calls….and other applications randomly crashingI decided that was enough…the G1 now rests in some landfill.
I now use a very stable blackberry. I don’t think I’d buy another android phone or anything made by HTC.

Ok let me put it down how it goes.. the G1 willl win against the iPhone, by 100 times. Don’t ask me how, just google ”Android Cupcake” and ”Flash on android”. And there are third party apps which will solve most of the problems that the phone came with. And with android cupcake, there will be Video Recording. REALITY you nitwit the iPhone is half the size of the G1. The iPhone has the G1 beat on Hardware by 100 times, and we all know that. But overall, Everyone here is stupid. a Good comparison of the G1 would be the blackberry storm a gee, I dunno, a FIRST-GENERATION PHONE JUST LIKE THE G1. Lets compare the G1 to the iPhone 2G. Which would win? I think we all know already.

Right now, I’m typing this on my G1. And honestly, u iPhone junkies, u should use the G1 for a week and I bet u toss ur iPhone’s in the toilet cuz this Android OS is absolutely amazing. If u’ve ever used the G1, u would kno that it isn’t really a hassle to flip the screen for the keyboard since 60% of the time, u already have it in landscape mode. The iPhone is old news. The G1 is here and that’s all there is to it. Get used to it. Cuz there WILL BE more and better versions of it and from where I stand, the G1 is far more superior than the iPhone already and this is Google’s first attempt on a phone. Wat does that tell u?

Horrible Phone. It does not sync with outlook and does not support a “Company Name” field for contacts! WTF???? So even if you do jump through hoops to sync your data with your current PIM, if you store a lot of companies in contacts, you have to re-enter those company names in the First and/or last name fields, otherwise they display as “Unknown” in the G1 Contact list.
This phone is actually the ANTI-GOOGLE, you can’t properly search contacts either.

I wont diss the G1 seeing as this is the first super expensive and touch screen i have ever owned. and that google has attempted to make.
but i will on that note add that it is 2096 ((lol u get the point right??)) and technology can do alot better than this “dream” phone.
once you first start operating it (brand new from the box), its really fast and responsive..but as u notice over one monthor so of use and 50+ app downloads later it lags…and it lags really bad! expspeacilly when ur browsing the net…
the touch screen is as responsive as a used geo metro…it will work but give it some time…(a 6+ second lag sometime when exiting out of a open app or browser)
the battery gave me hell of probs in the beginng but now it holds up for 4days at a time with heavy useage…technical glich? blessing? or mabe just plan weird..i dunno i havent met no one yet who has noticed this.
i love my g1 but it has grown very boring with the lame stupid pointless spam apps..it is very unorganinzed..i have pondered the thought of owning a crisp cleam organized iphone so many times i practically thought a iphone in my hands..lol
no but seriously why in the world is this phone so beta? i say if your gonna sell a phone make sure plenty of test are done…in beta and none beta stages then u mass produce and distribute..if not you get a site like this that bashes and down talks this “iphone killer” which it is in its sense of open-ness it very much is..but other than that i think googles approach for a better affordable smart phone was met and people who havent owned anything close to something like this is happy…hell i am…so go to google with your probs like i have instead of complaining in a blog and if you just want that WOW factor out of your g1 give google time…and tell them what u dislike and they will do there best to make it better with each update!!

1) It is SLOOOOOW
Even if you did have an adapter for headphone jack, no way to listen to music for more than a couple of hours as it is also the power jack.
2) Web browser is clunky, doesn’t properly display a lot of pages.
3) GPS next to useless.
4) No virtual keyboard.
5) No motion sensing to wake up phone.
6) Battery power worse than iPhone
7) No standard headphone jack, can’t use a music player in your stereo system.
9) Not sexy
10) Hangs for no good reason
11) Tmobile network is unreliable
12) Unlocking for ATT forces you onto EDGE
The ONLY good thing about the G1
1) OPEN SOURCE
Right now it is 1987
The iPhone is the 1987 Mac
The G1 is the 1987 PC….uggggggllly.
But again, Apple makes the same mistakes with a closed-system.
Another 5 years, iPhone will be pushed in the corner as open phone OS’s spread….I hope.

this G1 is a piece of crap, I have had this crap 1 for 5 months and have replaced it 4 damn times, each time returning with a different problem.
1. screen died out of actually being touched
2. I touched the battery and it died
3. I touched the phone it broke
4. I receive a text it deletes, it doesn’t like doing work
Be smart get a Blackberry or iphone the only two reliable phones on the market
Don’t gamble with rushed pieces of crap like the Google “crap” Phone
and if you are even considering buying the new t-mobile “My Phone”, think again, and if you are that stupid to buy it then expect it to break within two weeks and be ready to switch to At&t to buy a new phone…

I have really come to dislike this phone. Wanted to like it and thought if Google put their name on it it was going to be good. It’s crap. I am going to pay the early termination fee and get an I - phone or Palm Pre. IF your thinking about getting one ask a few people who have the G-1…i have yet to talk to a person who loved it or even liked it. What a big disappointment.

I bought the G1 in July. It worked good for two weeks and then I spent three weeks without a phone because it crashed and the T-Mobile had to send and replace 5 times before one worked. Finally after I got a working replacement, and two months of trouble free usage, the phone went dead again. I am currently waiting for the free replacement once again. I would never buy this phone again.

Ugh.. I got the G1 in the first week of April. I loved it the first few weeks. Now, not so much. The phone is nothing compared to the iPhone. Take this from a Sidekick Lx, Sidekick 2, Sidekick 3, and Sidekick ‘08 user. My brother has the iPhone, and the G1 is CRAP compared to it. I wish I could’ve listened to him in the first place about not getting the stupid phone, now I’m stuck with it for another 17 months. FML.
But for some reason my contract ends October ‘10.
Lucky me? Not very much. Bottom conclusion, I hate the G1.

The only thing that sucks about the G1 Is the Video Camera and the Dial pad. And it does have Virtual keyboard. Both the Iphone and G1 are very similar and awesome. G1 is cheaper. And no it is not ugly, maybe your looking at the part when the keyboard slides out? Theres alot of Iphone immitators now like the New Droid phones. Most of you are Iphone fans, no wonder theres so much hate. Tsk Tsk should be ashamed of yourselves.

OK I READ ENOUFFF ITS TIME 2 TEXT A COMMENT USING MY G1 !
1.) THE G1 DOES NOT VIEW FLASH ! AND MOST WEBSITES ARE USING FLASH HOWEVER THE APPLE, AND WINDOWS WILL I’M GUESSING THEY KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF ADOBE!!!!
2.) THE G1 IS REALLY DIFFICAULT TO FOCUS WHILE TAKING PICTURES I WOULD RATHER HAVE A 1.5MEG PIX THAN A 3PIX THAT WILL NOT CAPTURE THE MOMENT ARGGG!
3.) THE G1 will not focus on googles very own website as u type in a search into the searchbar google recomends auto fill popular searches below in the drop down box how-ever when u go 2 highlight it then click well it will not work so now u have to type in your original search on your own again so nevermind that box ! I don’t get it !
4.) They sould of had htc build this phone with the menu/powerbar on the opposite side because my thumb is not long enough to text using one hand !!! And most people type w there righthand ! Even as I am left handed I still text w my right hand lol funny ha ?
5.) Ok ok yes something is funny w the battery it dies to fasst even w only a couple apps
6.) And their sould be a menu option to shut down any app u wish ?
7.) Also I don’t like the idea of infrenging ! Yes yes ye I said it ok here goes google wants u to back up your phone well what I mean is g1 will give u 2 options update now/ or update later ! Lol well first of all I don’t want to update at all !!! Because when u update the first time I belive google is backing up all your data ! Then they format your software then loads up nevewer vesion and then takes the carbon copy they backed up on to their server to put it back on your phone but wiat there’s more ! Lol I belive when u agree to update the first time u agree to the new terms and conditions and in that is automatic update agreements because I did update on my first g1 after that the damm thing would auto update back up my stuff pics,emails,text, and ect. I once was go to an oppointment driving and it shut of it took 35min to update maybe I wasn’t in a good satilight zone but I was pisst off as hell because I failed to rely on the google maps to get to my destination and couldn’t even call my client to say I didn’t know were the hell I was going because google forced an update on me !!!!! What isn’t that infringing ?
8.) Also the url bar is googles search bar ? What I mean by that is when u type into the url bar google keeps a track record of all your searches I mean its bad enough that they do it in the search engine bar but why the url bar ? Man come on leave that alone ! Also they keep that for marketing purpose and gov. In the name of the patriot act ? Also your searches are being tracked and u are the owner to the phone and ur location is via gps and it has your email name adress and all via the server tmobile ! Or now open market thus 2010 alsso keep in mind that the search bar has a voice bar all u have to do is touch the button and say a word it will search your key word but think about that ? Well is that allways on? Like a mic listing to all your key words and if u say enough of the wrong key words the altherythms might pick up on you phone conversation in the good name of the patriot act? Wo`WzRs. !
9.) Humm what else ? Ok ok I can give u more but my upper falangies are suffering by now right ? Ahh. Every time I go to websites I have to view them in beta like a motorolla would thus oxymoran ! Why did I get this phone ? Because I want to view sites like a computor duhh so why do I have to make extra clicks to see site like desktop ? Hotdog couldn’t I just put off and on switch ? To view everything in desktop or mobile ?
10.) Ok don’t laugh he heee hah aha well if u want to pay your bill using your so called sMart phone on tmobile website ! Hotdoogie u can not view tmobiles website like desktop or interact with it ? Wow don’t u think either one of them would of made some changes tayloring to the g1 as they push to promote this phone ?
11.) No video camera it should be standerd !

13.) No ear jack ! Why the hell can’t I talk using my ear bud/piece while charging the phone ? I sometimes can not belivee the lil things like this ?

I going to sum it up now I’m not an apple guy or window because for one I’m not going to buy a iphone wen u can’t send mms duh also it has no hard keypad which I like on g1 ,,,, I had windows dash when it first came out it had major glitches I mean pull out the battery like - 4-8 times daily. The good thing with g1 is no glitching that is about all
:+`´[£´® :HOWÊVER I’M GLAD TO USE SOMETHING THAN NOTHING TECHNOLOGIE IS GETTING BETTER AND THAT’S GOOD BUT SOMEÔNE NEEDS TO COME OUT W A SUPer phone that does it all in one like from what I see the tmobile touchpro 2 its windows u can even use it as a modem yah also note I pay for the internet using g1 but I should be able 2 use it as a modem if I want , plus when I had my dash I was able to use any starbux wifi on my laptop but now that I have g1 I have to pay 10bucks more for that feature dam u tmobile just playn ur only tryn 2 make a buck or 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 ah what ever u can right well iv had every server attnt verison sprint and tmobile and I’m most satisfytd w t-mobile also iv had every phone too well almost and htc is the best maker thus far I belive. Come folks give them some credit givem all some credit we have more technologie in my hand than the millitary did in the 80s lol so blaaaaahhhhhh be thank full just a lilbit ! Man, I feel really bad for those folks who bought a G1. That phone is UTTER CRAP. Poor T-Mobile just can’t seem to get any good devices here in the US.
